How to clean Grates, Drop Pans or Grills
- Wait
until everything has cooled. This will prevent anything from being damaged.
- Using
soapy water and a plastic scouring pad, wash burner grates and drip
pans.
Note: If you are having trouble removing some of the dirt, use a
soap filled non-abrasive pad or a sponge and cooktop cleaning cream.
- If the
soil has burned onto the grates, remove them and place on newspapers.
- Spray
with commercial oven cleaner.
- Be careful not to spray other areas.
- Put the
grates in a plastic bag and leave them there several hours or overnight.
- Remove
the grates, wash in hot soapy water, rinse and dry.
- Make sure to wear rubber gloves.
- If you
are cleaning grill grates, first wipe them with a paper towel.
- Wash grates
in hot water with soap or detergent. Alternatively you could put them
in the dishwasher.
Note: If you wash the grates in the dishwasher, season with oil
prior to grilling.
- Remove
difficult areas with a plastic mesh puff or pad.
Note: For best results use only the non-abrasive pads and cleaners
recommended for non-stick surfaces.
- After
each use, clean the grill burner with a soapy S.O.S. pad. Rinse and
dry thoroughly.
